Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!!!!!!!!!
Well, how do I start this prose when the subject is so dear to my heart? Early last year Ian, my son, asked me if we should run the London Marathon in 2005 in memory of his aunt and my sister Gloria, who tragically died on 27 Dec 03. She worked for Social Services in Stoke-on-Trent as a care worker visiting old and infirmed people at home, providing help to those who could not cope without her daily support. She was only 63 years old when she suffered a heart attack just before Christmas as she was driving to visit her second 'client' of the day. She managed to get to her friends house and was rushed from there into hospital. She seemed to be pulling through but unfortunately it was not to be and she suffered a second heart attack and passed away.
I thought my son's idea was brilliant and we agreed that possibly the best charity to try and raise funds in Gloria's name would be Age Concern. To cut a long story short we have been accepted to run for Age Concern and we are now striving to raise a minimum of £3000.
To compound my situation I am currently living and working for the MOD in the United Arab Emirates and have limited access to UK sponsors. Fortunately family and friends have offered their support and will be trying to collect as much as possible on our behalf in the UK. I hope you can find time to give generously to this worthwhile cause.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Age Concern England will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. You are able to make a direct donation to the charity or make a pledge that will be deducted from you after the marathon.
Hopefully you will give generously but every little helps towards our goal.

Many thanks for your support!!!!!!
